Siva Ananmalay
Siva Ananmalay is the Senior Director of Engineering at Cisco Systems' Service Provider Technology Group. Prior to joining Cisco, Ananmalay spent 4 years as VP of Engineering at Extreme Networks, and more than 14 years with Nortel Networks, where he served as Vice President, Engineering, for the Optical Ethernet Development department. Siva held many positions throughout Nortel in Santa Clara, Ottawa, and Maidenhead, England.
Ananmalay received a B.CompSci (Bachelor of Computer Science) with Honours from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.
Despite having grown up in the Toronto area, Siva is a Sharks fan.
Shona Brown
Shona Brown took on responsibilities for Google's business operations in 2003, following almost a decade consulting with technology clients in Toronto and Los Angeles for McKinsey & Company. As a partner at McKinsey, she was a leader of the global strategy practice and worked with a wide range of firms on strategy development, business model transformation and operational issues. Her experience includes extensive work in consumer software and hardware technology, online consumer services, and Internet media markets.
She has taught in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and within McKinsey's mini-MBA program. She is the author of the best-selling business book, Competing on the Edge: Strategy as Structured Chaos, which introduced a new strategic model for competing in volatile markets, and she has published broadly in both applied and academic journals.
Shona has a bachelor's degree in computer systems engineering from Carleton University in Canada and a master's degree in economics and philosophy from Oxford University as a Rhodes scholar. She received her Ph.D. and postdoctoral degree from Stanford University's Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management.
Lance McAndrew
Lance McAndrew moved to the Bay Area in 1986 to work for Apple Computer. He currently works for Entrust Technologies in Santa Clara as a technical sales specialist in the wireless group. He is originally from Alberta, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta, and a Masters of International Management Degree from Thunderbird.
Teena Singh
Teena Singh joined Digital Moose Lounge in 2001 and was Social Coordinator for the organization until 2007. She resigned DML leadership when we moved to San Diego in March of 2007. Upon moving to San Diego, Teena quickly became involved in the Canadian Expat Network in San Diego: CanDiego. In August of 2007 when its founder moved back to Canada, Teena took the helm as President of CanDiego. Teena works at Oracle Corporation where she designs HRMS software. Teena grew up in Pincher Creek, AB. She obtained both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, AB. She also obtained a Master's in Industrial Relations (specializing in HRMS Systems) from Queen's University in Kingston, ON. In addition to living in Pincher Creek, Edmonton and Kingston, Teena has also lived in Cereal, AB, Medicine Hat, AB, Prince George, BC, and Vancouver, BC. Teena can be reached at teena@candiego.org.
John Southwell
Born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, John has a diverse background in hotel operations with experience in the United States and Canada. Prior to joining the Hilton San Jose and Towers as General Manager in 1995, he held Management positions in Operations at the Sheraton Hotel San Diego and the Sheraton Centre Toronto.
In his capacity as General Manager for the Hilton San Jose and Towers, John is primarily responsible for hotel operations, service delivery systems, strategic financial planning, and sales and marketing. As an avid supporter of the community, he provides sponsorships and assistance to many of the diverse organizations throughout San Jose.
John is a member of the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors and in the past has served as Chairman of the Board.
He also currently serves as a management trustee on the Board of Trustees for the South Bay Hotel Employees Restaurant Employees Trust Fund and on the Hilton Hotels IT Advisory Council. John is a member of San Jose State University’s Hospitality Management Advisory Board and Cornell University’s Alumni Admissions Ambassador’s Network.
John resides in San Jose with his wife, Alice and three children: Aidan, Jared, and Julia. When he is not busy with family, job, church and school obligations, you can most likely find John on the golf course.

Michael Worry
Michael is a Canadian engineer that moved to Silicon Valley in 1997 to join the technology boom. A serial entrepreneur, Michael is CEO of Nuvation Engineering. Nuvation is a global leader in Electronic Design Services (EDS), providing project-based chip, board, and software design services for the embedded systems industry. Nuvation offers a full spectrum of systems engineering, including FPGA and ASIC design, Board (PCB) design, Signal Integrity analysis, Firmware for MCU, DSP, and NPUs, and turnkey Product Development. Nuvation has offices in San Jose, California and Waterloo, Ontario.
Michael also contributes to Canada being known as a world leader in the sport of combat robotics. Michael captains a robotic combat team that competes at events like BattleBots, RoboGames and Combots. Ziggy, the team's 340 pound pneumatic flipper has been the #1 robot in the heavyweight class for three years running. Ziggy is sponsored by Freescale and uses a 9RS08 processor to time pneumatics that throws opponents 10 feet in the air! Texas Heat is the team's 60 pound titanium flamethrower robot. Sponsored by Texas Instruments, microprocessor millisecond timing is needed to achieve the correct fuel to air ratio for reliable ignition of the six foot flamethrower!
Nuvation is also the keepers of the Digital Moose - a life size moose which is the mascot of the Digital Moose Lounge! The Digital Moose can often be seen cruising the roads as the Moose likes the fresh air and Nuvation takes their moose friend to many parties and events! Michael lives with his wife Maureen and two daughters, in a house affectionately known as "The Moose Mansion".
