Marie Thomas (Community Moose)
Marie hails from Montreal and has been spotted roaming the Wine Country hillside since early 2000.

Lured by the hi-tech gold rush, armed with a degree from McGill University, and a decade-long software development career, Marie can now be found trying to bend time in order to complete on time the software projects she manages.

Andrew Scoular (Business Venture Moose)
Andrew has run his own consulting business in San Francisco since 1997. His focus is on strategic marketing and business development for large hi-tech companies as well as Internet start-ups. He concentrates on building business and marketing plans for these organizations, or for a strategic market initiative within the organization. His specialty is in helping the organization revisit its business plan in the light of changing markets or financial conditions to ensure they focus on achieving the most with the limited resources available. He targets both B2B and B2C in the Entertainment, Communications and Telecoms market segments. Some of his Canadian clients over this time were Bell Emergis (an initiative of Bell Canada focusing on the new paradigm of Network-centric business and consumer solutions), EmuLive Imaging Corporation out of Montreal (a developer of innovative video and audio streaming technologies for Internet and other business networks), H+a in Toronto (a CD-ROM and Internet content publisher), Toon Boom Technologies out of Montreal (a 2D animation Software developer), as well as acting as CEO and President for MediaLinx/Sympatico.ca based in Toronto.

Andrew started his career in the computer industry after graduating from university in South Africa, and worked in sales and marketing management positions for NCR, Olivetti, Data General and the computer division of Siemens AG. On moving to Canada, he joined Apple and managed product and marketing departments until 1994 when he was transferred down to Apple's corporate headquarters in Cupertino, CA. Here he created and marketed innovative New Media solutions for international consumers and New Media developers and ended his tenure with Apple with the responsibility for Corporate marketing initiatives as the Internet began on its explosive growth path.

Living in Silicon Valley has enabled Andrew to provide the benefits of his business experience to Canadian companies looking to expand into the US market. He is a member of the Canadian Venture Capital Advisory Board set up by the Canadian Consulate and Trade Commission in Silicon Valley. Such business relationships, as well as his role in the Digital Moose Lounge, have ensured that he retains a link back to his Canadian roots.
