About the Event
The Digital Moose Lounge presents an engaging panel discussing the latest back-to-office trends and "The Future of Work".
During pandemic-related lockdowns and work-from-home culture, many DML members spent time in Canada, working their Bay Area tech jobs remotely. The booming tech sector attracted loads of investment, and boosted a Canadian near-shoring industry, as Bay Area tech firms sought out Canada’s talent and relatively flexible immigration policies.Â
Some commentators speculated that this trend would permanently shift the gravity of tech away from Silicon Valley towards Canadian and other U.S. / global talent centers. But with the recent slowdown in investments and a recession on the horizon, how will the future of work play out for Canada?Â
In this panel, we gather senior policy and tech HR practitioners to assess the future of remote working and implications for the Canadian tech economy.Â
This Panel discussion includes:
o Rana Sarkar, Consul General of Canada to Northern California and Silicon Valley
o Suzanne Dalcourt, Director of People Operations, Marketing at Google
o Arturo Gonzalez, Director of Advocacy and Research at Meta
o Pavan Dhillon, Canadian Immigration Lawyer and DML Board Member
o David Stewart, Moderator and DML Board Director
Please stay for networking after the event, refreshments and wine will also be served.
